Meet April
Owner & Lead Pet Nanny
Harmony Pet Nanny was founded by April, a lifelong animal lover with extensive professional experience caring for dogs and other pets. After years in the corporate world, she followed her heart into full-time pet care, previously owning and operating Rocky’s Retreat, a canine wellness and boarding facility in Orlando.
During her time there, April deepened her skills in dog behavior, handling, and enrichment, and became certified in canine hydrotherapy through the Canine Fitness Institute. She is also a certified Pet CPR & First Aid instructor through Pet Tech® , reflecting her commitment to safety and preparedness in every aspect of pet care.
Originally from Pittsburgh, April grew up in Orlando, spent many years in Brevard County and now calls Harmony, FL home. She shares her home (and plenty of pet snuggles) with her pups and her housemate Laura. April’s commitment is to treat every pet in her care as if they were her own: with patience, respect, and plenty of love.
Meet Laura
Pet Nanny & Trusted Sidekick
Laura is not only April’s housemate, but also her trusted partner in pet care. A Florida native who grew up in College Park, Laura first worked with April at Rocky’s Retreat, where she helped care for a wide variety of dogs with different energy levels, temperaments, and needs.
At Harmony Pet Nanny, Laura assists with in-home boarding, drop-in visits, and dog walking. Laura is also certified in Pet CPR & First Aid, and she’s especially gifted at helping shy or nervous pets warm up at their own pace, and she takes pride in the “little things” that make a big difference—like keeping routines consistent, noticing subtle changes in behavior, and making sure homes are tidy and secure when clients return.
Clients love Laura’s calm, gentle presence and her genuine affection for every animal she meets.
